  • Type Project
  • Execution 2023 -2025
  • Assigned Budget 104,960 €
  • Scope Autonómico
  • Autonomous community Murcia, Región de
  • Main source of financing NextGenerationEU
  • Project website Web del Proyecto
Description
The project aims to control eriophyid mites such as Acalitus and Aculops, which have been affected by the withdrawal of pesticides and climate change, through integrated strategies using botanical oils and extracts. Prevention, biological control, and knowledge transfer to the agricultural sector are prioritized.
Contextual description
The tomato russet mite (Aculops lycopersici) has become a difficult pest to manage due to rising temperatures and a reduction in effective phytosanitary options.
Results
Preventive control from the outset is more effective than targeted treatment. Sulfur combined with natural products, especially orange oil and maltodextrin, alternated with releases of Transeius montdorensis, significantly improves pest reduction.
