Contextual description
Waste valorization brings us closer to a circular economy and greatly increases the sustainability of the agri-food sector. This is especially true for pomegranates, since nearly half their weight is discarded during processing without a consolidated valorization route in place.
Results
Creation of a circular economy model that converts pomegranate processing waste into functional ingredients, biofuels and compost, generating sustainable and scalable products for the agri-food industry.
