EXPO SAGRIS 2025: More than 100 activities to connect the countryside with the city and showcase the innovation, talent and sustainability of the agri-food sector

From November 6 to 8, 2025 , Pavilion 4 of IFEMA MADRID will become the great meeting point of the agricultural world with the celebration of the first edition of EXPO SAGRIS, the Agriculture and Livestock Show , organized by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with ALAS (Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture) as the promoting association.

Under the slogan “The countryside comes to the city,” EXPO SAGRIS will bring together professionals, families, schoolchildren, institutions, and companies over three intense days, with a program of more than one hundred activities including forums, auditoriums, stands, educational classrooms, and themed plazas . Its objective: to showcase the reality, innovation, and sociocultural richness of the Spanish countryside , highlighting its essential role in daily life, social well-being, and environmental sustainability.

A great forum for knowledge, innovation and the future of rural areas

The fair will feature the prominent participation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) , the main sponsor, which will lead various activities:

  • The 2nd National Meeting of the CULTIVA Program , where young farmers, ranchers and hosts will share training experiences in model farms.
  • The forum “Being a farmer and rancher is profitable” , sponsored by McDonald's, with discussions on management models and viability of farms.
  • The Workshop against food waste , with educational activities aimed at young people to promote responsible consumption habits.

In addition, Cajamar and McDonald’s act as gold sponsors, reaffirming their commitment to innovation and sustainability in the rural environment.

Technology, science and agriculture of the future

The Technology Plaza will be the epicenter of innovation applied to agriculture. There, AEPLA ( Business Association for Plant Protection) will demonstrate the safe use of drones for applying plant protection products , while the ENIA International Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture (UCO) will offer workshops on sensors, digital machinery, and virtual platforms, with demonstrations such as “Your 3D crop, like in a video game” and “Canela, the robotic dog.”

The Living Soils Conservation Agriculture Association will present its workshop “Soil is Life,” featuring rainfall simulators and laboratory exercises to measure soil fertility. Meanwhile, ASAJA will offer sessions on sustainability, digitalization, generational renewal, and rural entrepreneurship , as well as dedicated spaces for rural women and the green economy.

Agri-food education and rural culture

EXPO SAGRIS will give a leading role to agri-food education and awareness , bringing the countryside closer to new generations. Projects such as Kids&Agro (AEPLA) and initiatives from COAG , CERES , and ANOVE will promote workshops, biotechnology labs, and interactive experiences for schoolchildren. There will also be tastings, sensory activities, and experimental spaces organized by FEPEX and the Livestock and Meat Forum .

In parallel, the fair will celebrate gastronomy, science, and rural culture through tastings, exhibitions, and literary and musical events. UPA will present a program focused on family farming, sustainability, and women's leadership , while Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain will showcase initiatives such as "Cooperative Product" and "Alliance 30 in 30," in addition to promoting healthy breakfasts and tastings open to the public.

Recognition of rural talent

EXPO SAGRIS will also host awards that highlight innovation and commitment to rural areas :

  • ASAJA Young Farmer Awards , for projects led by young people.
  • ANOVE Awards for the best Final Degree Projects in plant improvement.
  • UPA Sustainable by Nature Awards , which recognize exemplary initiatives in economic, social and environmental sustainability.

A great event to celebrate the countryside

With the support of ALAS (which brings together ASAJA, COAG, UPA, FEPEX, AEPLA, ANOVE, Agri-food Cooperatives and other entities of the agri-food ecosystem), EXPO SAGRIS was created to bring agriculture and livestock farming closer to society , showing its essential contribution to the economy, innovation and daily life.
