Description of activities
- To expand knowledge about the state of the art and the potential use of these tools for detecting pests and diseases in crops.
- Validate disease detection algorithms in citrus fruits relevant to Andalusia.
- Develop an aerial system capable of detecting, identifying, and locating crop diseases.
- Provide farmers with prescription maps for geolocating areas requiring phytosanitary monitoring.
- Provide farmers with access to new digital technologies and familiarize them with artificial intelligence techniques.
- Promote the application of digital agriculture for efficient input management.
- Make available to cooperatives the economic study and specifications for integrating the surveillance service into their own systems.
- Carry out the dissemination of experiences, results and conclusions.
Objectives
The main objective of the DRONFRUIT II project is to implement an innovative technological solution based on the use of aerial platforms to detect citrus pests and diseases and enable immediate action to prevent their spread, minimizing associated losses and potential food safety risks.
This will allow for the development of a phytosanitary surveillance service for citrus fruits using drones and artificial intelligence, which cooperatives can offer to their members and enable better decision-making and optimized management of their farms.
