LAMBSKIN

The general objective of the project is to implement an automated classification system for lambskin produced in the Extremadura region. It also aims to study in depth the production and technical variables that affect the quality of the skin, as well as categorize the most common defects that reduce its final value.

For the automation of the classification system, image analysis using Machine Learning techniques will be applied. Additionally, nutritional or management strategies aimed at improving the quality of the skin and wool by strengthening the immune system will be studied, given that, as the animals are on extensive farms, the attack of parasites and other pathogens results in defects in the product.
