Operational Group: Development and improvement of technologies for the valorization of by-products from the cork industry

The Operational Group created has made it possible to connect a technological center specializing in cork, historically dedicated to the study of closures, with companies dedicated to 3D printing, the construction sector, and additive manufacturing to provide an outlet for forest products with a low profit margin.

The aim is to develop and/or improve technologies for the manufacture of new cork products. The raw material used was cork industry byproducts, with the aim of maximizing the use of these byproducts and waste from the cork sector, boosting the bioeconomy of cork oak regions.
