Development and improvement of technologies for the valorisation of by-products from the cork industry

The Operative Group created has enabled a technological centre specialising in cork, historically dedicated to the study of closures, to be connected with companies dedicated to 3D printing, the construction sector and the manufacturing of additives to provide an outlet for forestry products that have a reduced profit margin.

The aim is to develop and/or improve technologies for the manufacture of new products from cork. The raw material used has been by-products from the cork industry with the intention of maximising the use of these by-products and waste from the cork sector, boosting the bioeconomy of cork oak regions.
