Operational Group: Creation of a comprehensive data management platform for the pig sector

To implement the project, a Governing Body (GO) was created by FECIC and PORCAT. In order to guarantee food safety and quality, it is important to connect the various records and data generated throughout the food chain (farms, transport, slaughterhouses, etc.) that are currently unconnected, despite being related. Connecting them would allow us to identify the main errors and shortcomings in the sector and contribute to an overall improvement of the final product. The purpose of this project is to develop a working tool (integrating all this data into a "Big Data") that will allow us to align all the data and records generated on farms, slaughterhouses, and during transport, to obtain an in-depth view of the chain's traceability. This, in turn, will allow us not only to identify the main problems affecting the sector, but also to go further, identifying the causes and thus being able to make proposals for improvement.
