The Operational Group has developed a territorial assessment with a study of the productive potential of wild mushrooms of socioeconomic interest.
To this end, various activities have been carried out, including: the characterization of mycological demand in Aragon, the establishment of the Aragon Mycological Roundtable as a consultative body for discussion, diagnosis, and assessment of mycological resources, the definition of a future Network of Mycological Parks in Aragon, and the implementation of initiatives to promote mycological tourism and agri-food.
This Operational Group has laid the foundations for the development of the wild mushroom sector (products and services) in Aragon, providing society with a regional strategy (MICOARAGÓN) and management tools in cooperation with other national supra-regional governments and the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation, the European Mycological Institute (EMI).
To this end, various activities have been carried out, including:
- The characterization of the mycological demand in Aragon, the constitution of the Mycological Board of Aragon as a consultative body for discussion, diagnosis and assessment of the mycological resource.
- The definition of a future Network of Mycological Parks of Aragon.
- The implementation of actions for the valorisation of mycotourism and agri-food sectors.
- Coordinate, improve, and seek synergies between all actions related to the sustainable management and agri-food/mycotourism valorization of Aragon's forest mushroom resources.
