Description
Citrus identification is the main basis of varietal management and planning, and constitutes a problem for the industry. An authentication system is to be promoted and is associated with the development of a DSS for varietal choice.
Objectives
- Generalization of an identification system supported by the Citruseq genomic database.
- To assist the production sector in its decision-making regarding varietal selection by creating an app that includes the maximum amount of existing information regarding current varieties and rootstocks.
Results
- Obtaining molecular markers from newly selected varieties and validating the molecular marker panel for the unequivocal identification of citrus varieties.
- Creation of a database of varietal and rootstock technical data sheets, preparation of a market study, and validation of the app's functionality.
