Description
Development of innovative strategies for the control of endemic and emerging diseases in olive trees, to improve the economic results and sustainability of olive farms and derived industries.
Objectives
- Development of preventive (biostimulants), corrective and early detection strategies to combat verticillium wilt in olive trees.
- Development of corrective strategies to combat the rapid decline syndrome of the olive tree.
- To contribute to the progress of the olive and olive oil industry by improving the productivity of olive farms through the development of control strategies for endemic (verticillium wilt) and emerging (X. fastidiosa) diseases in olive trees.
Results
- Increased sprouting of olive trees through the application of biostimulant products developed in the project and control and/or reduction of the presence of verticillium wilt.
- Obtaining two phytosanitary products based on enzymatic compounds and plant extracts, respectively, capable of demonstrating a potential inhibitory effect of X. fastidiosa compounds in vitro.
- Introduction to the market of new products developed within the framework of the project for the prevention and treatment of two of the most problematic diseases in olive cultivation.
