Description
TIMBERTRACK promotes the development and implementation of a technically and economically viable solution for labeling/marking wood in the forestry-industry supply chain, enabling its integration into logistics and transportation equipment.
Objectives
- Development of a labeling/marking solution, both at the material unit (log) and wood batch level.
- Develop complementary hardware elements (recorder and reader) that allow for integration into forestry machinery currently used in timber harvesting and logistics operations.
- Create a plan for implementing the technological solution in the sector that allows for a gradual transition and integration with data systems.
Results
- Creation of a label or brand based on any of the existing technologies with special attention to RFID.
- Development of recorders and readers that allow for automated labeling/marking and label reading.
- Development of a sector-specific implementation and results transfer plan, ready for implementation, which will include all actors in the supply chain and successfully guide the implementation process throughout the country.
