Description

Tiaris Biosciences, led by Tania García and Fé García, is one of 16 Spanish SMEs funded by the CDTI (Spanish Institute of Technology and Communication) through the NEOTEC program for women-led businesses . Based in the Córdoba Technology Park , it has received €250,000 in grants to develop an innovative device capable of detecting the presence of agricultural pathogens in crops on-site, particularly in greenhouses .

The project seeks to offer an effective method for early identification of pathogens and preventing their spread, thereby reducing economic losses in the agricultural sector. The device uses molecular techniques similar to PCR, standing out for its precision and ability to detect multiple pathogens simultaneously. According to Fé García, co-founder of the company, their specialization in these techniques allows them to provide a more sensitive and specific solution than those currently on the market.
