Spain leads the agrotech revolution in Europe and attracts foreign investment

Spain is consolidating its position as a European benchmark in agri-food technology, boosting foreign investment in R&D&I. This is revealed by the report Mapping the Agrotech Ecosystem 2024 , published by ICEX - Invest in Spain and Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar , which analyses the sector and its growth opportunities.
The report highlights the strategic contribution of Spanish agriculture to the economy, with high added value and employment. With a value chain that generated 114.14 billion euros and employed 2.3 million people in 2023, Spain is positioned as the fourth agri-food power in the EU.
The study also identifies opportunities for innovative companies and reinforces the country's role as an agricultural technology hub, key to the sustainable and digital transformation of the sector.
