The second edition of the Agraria Prize for Master's theses in agricultural engineering has been announced.

The Valladolid Fair and the General Council of Official Colleges of Agricultural Engineers announce the second edition of the Agraria Prize, an award that will recognize the best final master's theses in Agricultural Engineering defended in Spanish universities.
The Valladolid Fair and the General Council of Official Colleges of Agricultural Engineers (CGCOIA) have announced the second edition of the Agraria Award , which will be presented at Agraria 2027 , the biennial agricultural machinery fair to be held in January 2027 in Valladolid.
The award is aimed at recognizing the best final master's theses (TFM) in Agricultural Engineering defended during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years in Spanish universities, both public and private.
Applications must be submitted through the twelve professional associations that make up the General Council, with a maximum of six submissions per association. The Master's theses will be evaluated by a committee comprised of representatives from the Council, the Valladolid Trade Fair, and the Official Associations of Agricultural Engineers.
The evaluation criteria will take into account aspects such as technological innovation, new agricultural development strategies, originality and the application of the work to the production processes and infrastructure of the sector.
The general manager of Feria de Valladolid, Alberto Alonso , highlighted that this award seeks "to give visibility to the ideas of future professionals in agronomic engineering and to promote their meeting with the business network of agricultural machinery."
For his part, the president of the General Council, Baldomero Segura García del Río , has stressed the importance of “highlighting the role of the agricultural engineer and their ability to promote agricultural development.”
The jury's decision will be announced during the Agricultural Fair. The prize money totals €2,750 : €1,500 for first place, €750 for second, and €500 for third. In addition, the top six finishers will receive a certificate.
The first edition included 24 final master's projects on topics such as remote sensing, irrigation, food transformation, carbon sequestration in vineyards, and new food consumption trends.
