MAPA supports the new Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition (Expo Sagris)
Description
On July 31, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA ) hosted the official presentation of Expo Sagris, the new Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition promoted by the Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture (ALAS), which will be held at the IFEMA exhibition center (Madrid) from November 6 to 8, 2025.
The fair was created with the aim of becoming a major meeting point for the national agricultural, livestock, and agri-food ecosystem. Expo Sagris is designed as a space open to the general public, seeking to highlight the agri-food sector's contribution to food safety, environmental sustainability, technological innovation , and regional integration.
The event will bring together companies, cooperatives, professional organizations, institutions, and social entities, who will be able to demonstrate their active commitment to a more just and resilient agricultural model, adapted to current challenges, such as generational change, ecological transition, and adaptation to climate change.
During the presentation, the informative nature of the fair was highlighted, whose ultimate objective is to convey to the public a real and prestigious image of the Spanish agri-food sector, highlighting its profitability with data, underlining its strategic role as an economic driver, generator of employment and guarantor of food quality and safety .
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MAPA) provides institutional support for this initiative, within the framework of a general action protocol that will soon be formalized with the signing of an agreement between the ministerial department and the ALAS association. Specifically, this protocol will allow for the joint development of actions aimed at strengthening the reputation of the primary sector, as well as boosting its institutional visibility and business potential, in line with the sustainability, innovation, and territorial cohesion objectives promoted by national and European agricultural policy.
