Innovation platform to make food systems more resilient and sustainable

With a transdisciplinary and multi-actor approach, the CULTIVATE innovation project team is developing a platform called the Food Exchange Compass, which consists of key tools that will be tested or replicated in nine cities and towns across the European Union to move towards resilient and sustainable food exchange. The platform's tools are:

• SHARECITY200 database maps, tracks and monitors food sharing initiatives (FSIs),
• Food exchange calculator assesses costs, benefits and impacts
• Good governance menu offers policy options to facilitate sustainable food exchange,
• Citizen participation library that catalogs tools to expand food exchange activity and
• Community of Practice for FSIs
