Description

In 2026, the block of sectoral technical workshops begins within the program "Technical workshops and seminars to promote regenerative and sustainable agriculture" , an initiative launched in March 2025 by the Juana de Vega Foundation and the company Agroassessor , and subsidized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food .

For almost a year and a half, both entities have jointly promoted this ambitious training plan between Galicia and Catalonia , with the aim of moving from sustainable practices towards regenerative agricultural and livestock models , capable of responding to the major current challenges: soil degradation, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity and the effects of climate change.

The program focused on the need for a profound change in the production model , addressing the importance of soil, water and biodiversity both for the conservation of ecosystems and for the development of resilient, productive and economically viable agricultural systems, with the capacity for carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation.

A flexible program tailored to the sector

Throughout 12 sessions —structured into 4 technical days , 1 supra-regional seminar , 2 technical seminars and 5 sectoral technical days— the key components, practices and tools of regenerative agriculture are analyzed.

The activities, independent but complementary to each other, combine online, face-to-face and mixed formats, with a duration of one or two days, and are developed in duplicate in Galicia and Catalonia , facilitating the participation of technicians, advisors and producers according to their needs and training itineraries.

Regenerative gardening: first sectoral technical conference in Galicia

The program of sector-specific technical workshops begins this year with the workshop “The Regenerative Garden,” which will be held in Catalonia on January 16 and in Galicia on January 23. This session will mark the start of the sector-specific block focused on transferring the principles of regenerative agriculture to real-world horticultural systems.

The program will include content such as biointensive agriculture, the production of quality compost, crop selection and association, crop rotations, close planting, the use of seedbeds and open-pollinated seeds, ending with a space for analysis and conclusions.
