UPM and IMIDRA demonstrate in Aranjuez how the “keylines” strategy helps to curb erosion and make better use of water
Description
Within the framework of the DTDA2 project – Demonstration of Digital Technologies in Agri-food , the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) , through the ETSIAAB , and in collaboration with IMIDRA , is organizing a demonstration activity focused on the application of digital technologies for soil conservation and agricultural sustainability .
Under the title “Keylines strategy for erosion control and water use” , the event will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Finca La Chimenea (IMIDRA) , in Aranjuez (Madrid) .
Program
The activity, which will take place between 10:00 and 18:00, will combine technical content and practical field demonstrations:
- Participant reception, group organization, and introductory talk
- Current problems of erosion , soil and water loss
- Keyline Strategy: basic concepts, implementation, adaptation and benefits
- Autoguidance as a tool for keyline execution
- Field demonstrations
- Country food
- Sharing, discussion session and networking
The ETSIAAB coordination team has organized a bus departure at 9:00 a.m. from the pond in front of the School, with a return at 6:00 p.m.
