Valencia will host the 6th National Congress of Agricultural Engineers , which will take place from October 27 to 30, 2026, at the City of Arts and Sciences . The event is envisioned as a strategic opportunity to reflect on the future of the profession, explore new development opportunities, and address the challenges transforming the agri-food, rural, and environmental sectors.
The congress will focus on 12 key drivers of transformation that will shape the evolution of agricultural engineering in the coming years. These include digitalization, water management, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, plant health, bioindustry, waste valorization, food transformation, and new professional skills.
Each of these themes will include a keynote address by leading experts, followed by expert panels , networking opportunities, and bilateral meetings to delve deeper into experiences, case studies, and collaboration opportunities.
The provisional program includes sessions on artificial intelligence, sensors and robotics applied to decision-making; hydraulic infrastructure and water governance; bioenergy and rural development; green infrastructure and landscape; agri-food support industry; new bio-industries; project engineering and skills for the new generation of professionals.
Alongside the technical sessions, the congress will include several special spaces, such as “Crossfire: 75 years of the profession” , coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the National Organization; a debate on agricultural, rural and environmental policy in the European Union and other international models; a session dedicated to the presence of the agricultural engineer in film and television; and a closing ceremony aimed at defining a roadmap for the future of the profession.
With this new edition, the National Congress of Agricultural Engineers aims to consolidate itself as a benchmark forum to anticipate trends, strengthen professional identity and highlight the role of agricultural engineering in the face of major global challenges.
