Description

The CARBOGAN Operational Group plans to share its goals and actions at a series of workshops held at the TechFabLab in a sprint format under the title "Technologies that Nourish the Future." Javier Alejandre , from the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA), will be giving the talk at this workshop, dedicated to the digitalization of extensive grazing management as a carbon sequestration strategy, on September 16.

From September 16 to 17, 2025, the La Rioja Technology Center will host professionals and technicians in an initiative that seeks to transform the sector's challenges into tangible, impactful solutions. Organized in collaboration with THINKTIC of the Government of La Rioja and financed by the European Union through NextGenerationEU funds, this sprint is aimed at a wide range of attendees, from entrepreneurs and innovation managers of agri-food companies to AgriFoodTech startups, primary sector technicians, researchers, and students.

The main objective is the creation of multidisciplinary teams capable of identifying problems and generating innovative solutions based on enabling technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Blockchain and precision fermentation .

Intensive and Practical Program

The TECHFABLAB program has been designed with an eminently practical focus. The first day, September 16, will be dedicated to contextualizing the agri-food sector and showcasing key technologies, including real-life use cases from participating companies. The day will culminate with a collaborative activity to identify challenges in the sector.

On September 17, work will intensify with ideation dynamics and the application of tools such as the "Mini Lean Canvas Agro" to define Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). Teams will have the opportunity to present their proposals in a pitch format, facilitating cross-validation and the establishment of a collaborative network among industry stakeholders.

Ambitious Goals for a Sustainable Future

The organizers of the TECHFABLAB Sprint pursue several specific objectives: to encourage collective reflection on the sector's main problems and opportunities, showcase inspiring success stories, and train attendees in developing viable technological solutions. All this with a short- to medium-term vision and the firm commitment to boosting the efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of the La Rioja agri-food sector. With events like the TECHFABLAB Sprint, La Rioja is positioning itself as a benchmark in the integration of technology and knowledge to transform its economic engine, laying the foundations for a more innovative and prosperous agri-food future.
