In-person workshop to present the progress of the GO LIXAGRO project on the circular bioeconomy applied to crop residues
Description
A free in-person workshop will be held in El Ejido, Almería, on June 27, 2025, to present the main achievements of the GO LIXAGRO project . This operational group has worked on the design and validation of an innovative process that transforms the leachate generated during the composting of plant waste into a product with biofertilizer and biostimulant properties, designed to sustainably improve agricultural productivity.
The meeting will be an opportunity to learn how the circular economy and bioeconomy can offer effective and environmentally friendly solutions for the use of agricultural waste.
Highlights of the day:
- Inaugural presentation: Composting in the 21st Century , by Professor Raúl Moral Herrero (University of Orihuela), who will address the key role of this technique in the valorization of agri-food by-products.
- Presentation of the results of the GO LIXAGRO project, which has enabled the development of an integrated process for obtaining organic fertilizers from leachate.
- Final roundtable discussion on the removal of polypropylene raffia from plant waste treatment plants, a topical issue in light of the upcoming ban on receiving this material at these facilities starting September 1, 2025.
Free event with prior registration required.
The GO LIXAGRO project is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Andalusian Regional Government , as part of its commitment to a more innovative and sustainable agricultural sector.
A must-attend event for those seeking circular and responsible solutions for crop waste management. We look forward to seeing you!
