Description

On October 30 and 31 , the Santiago Grisolía Auditorium of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia will host the Congress of Agri-food Cooperatives of the Valencian Community , an event that will bring together more than 300 representatives of agri-food cooperatives to reflect on the present and future challenges of the sector.

Under the slogan “Cooperatives, towards a profitable, sustainable and digital agriculture” , the meeting will address key issues such as the current geopolitical and economic scenario , market and consumption trends , digitalization and artificial intelligence in agriculture , generational change , the size and profitability of agricultural structures , as well as the new CAP 2028-2034 .

The president of Federació, Cirilo Arnandis , has stressed that this Congress “should be a meeting point that helps us to reflect and debate together how to guarantee the competitiveness and profitability of our cooperatives and the 180,000 associated people they represent.”

Furthermore, the event has a special symbolic value: it coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Valencian Community (FECOAV) , established in 1984, and with the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives by the United Nations, in recognition of their role as an engine of sustainable development.

The program will include conferences and round tables with national and international experts who will analyze the transformation of the cooperative model in a context of digitalization, sustainability and adaptation to new markets.

The event has the support of the Valencian Government , the strategic sponsorship of Agropelayo and the Valencian Association of Credit Cooperatives (AVCC) , and the collaboration of Cajamar, Anecoop, AgroFresh, Hinojosa Packaging Group, MAF Roda Agrobotics, Coarval, Enercoop, Anecoop Bodegas, Grupo Coviñas, La Baronía de Turís and Bodegas Bocopa .

The Congress is thus emerging as a key event to reinforce the role of Valencian cooperatives as an essential agent in the territorial structuring, sustainability and innovation of the agri-food system .
