Use of Composting Technologies for Organic Waste Management

A free demonstration workshop entitled “Use of Composting Technologies for Organic Waste Management” will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Orihuela, Alicante. Poster attached.
This workshop is part of a knowledge transfer project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and aims to teach composting technologies for transforming organic waste into high-quality compost. Participants will learn about the composting process, including the types of waste that can be composted, the stages of the process, and the benefits of compost for soil fertility.
The program includes:
• Introduction to composting and its benefits in sustainable agriculture.
• Presentation of available composting technologies and the type of waste that can be composted.
• Practical demonstration of the composting process, from waste collection to obtaining compost.
• Explanation of the use of compost in different types of crops and the benefits for soil health.
• Discussion on how composting contributes to waste reduction and improved sustainability in the agricultural sector.
