Training in digitalization of the water cycle

The A1 Training Course on Water Cycle Digitalization , part of the iRiego project, will be held on August 4 and 5, 2025. This in-person training, lasting 16 hours, is aimed at irrigation and water management professionals interested in the modernization and digitalization of the sector.

Matchday 1 | Monday, August 4

9:00 a.m. – Module 1: Digitalization in water management at the Central Union of the Barrios de Luna Reservoir

• Organizational structure
• Benefits of digitalization in management
• Hydraulic infrastructure and consumption points
• Existing digital systems and proposals for improvement

12:00 pm – Break

12:30 p.m. – Module 2: Digitalization in Modernized Irrigation Communities

• Organization of irrigation communities
• Channel and network automation
• Rafts, pumping stations and digitalized irrigation

2:00 PM – Module 3: Digitalization of irrigation plots

• Data analysis and efficiency
• Alternatives and profitability of digitalization in plots

Matchday 2 | Tuesday, August 5

8:00 a.m. – Departure by bus for a technical route:

• Visits to the Barrios de Luna reservoir, Sena de Luna catchment, reservoir wall, Mora de Luna Power Plant, Selgas Retention Center and Alcoba de la Ribera

3:00 PM – Networking lunch in Bercianos del Páramo

4:00 PM – Visit to a digitalized irrigation plot

This training will allow participants to learn firsthand about real-life digitalization cases in water infrastructure, as well as exchange experiences with industry professionals.
