A 6-hour online course is aimed at agricultural engineers, master's degrees in agricultural engineering, technical agricultural engineers, bachelor's degrees in agri-food and rural engineering, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees related to agricultural engineering and professionals in the field of engineering.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the concept and scientific basis of biostimulants, differentiating them from other agricultural inputs such as fertilizers or phytosanitary products.
  • Understand the current legislative framework applicable to biostimulants in the European Union and Spain, including the implications for their registration, marketing, and use.
  • Analyze the biostimulant market: key trends, key players, innovation, and development prospects in the agroindustrial sector.
  • To study the different types of biostimulants used in agriculture—humic acids, microalgae, algae extracts, amino acids, microorganisms, microorganism extracts, silicon, and other molecules—understanding their origin, mechanisms of action, effects on plants, and optimal application conditions.
  • Provide technical criteria for decision-making in the recommendation and use of biostimulants in agricultural projects, both from the consulting and industry perspectives.
