The 16-hour in-person course, Digitalization of Precision Agriculture, Agriculture 4.0, organized by iRiego New Generation SL, will be held on August 13 and 14.


PROGRAM:

DAY 1: AUGUST 13.

8-10 hours. Module 1. GPS and self-guidance systems as fundamental components in precision agriculture.

  • Introduction to agricultural GPS: basic concepts, functionality, and advantages.
  • GPS setup and commissioning
  • Practical applications to get the most out of your GPS
  • Simulations with GPS and Autoguidance screens

10-11 hours. Module 2. Terrain Mapping

  • Data collection and digitization to get the most out of your farms.
  • Creation of detailed terrain maps.
  • Procedures for recording points of interest on the ground.
  • Interpretation of the data and maps obtained, identifying areas of variable performance, identifying problems (erosion, compaction, etc.)
  • Practical application of the maps obtained.

11:00-13:00. Module 3. ISOBUS Technology

  • Introduction to ISOBUS, regulations, components and structure
  • Configuration and commissioning of the ISOBUS system.
  • Implement control and configuration via the ISOBUS system.
  • Task documentation and data analysis.
  • Common troubleshooting and maintenance of the ISOBUS system.
  • Practical simulations with agricultural machinery with ISOBUS technology.

1:00-2:00 PM. Module 4. Implement Management and Variable Rate (VRT) Applications

  • Introduction to implement management and the importance of VRT in precision agriculture.
  • Types of implements used in VRT, compatibility, and equipment required for integration.
  • VRT agricultural implement configuration, connection adjustment and calibrations.
  • Collection and use of geospatial data.
  • Monitoring and adjustment using field simulators.
  • Post-operative analysis and adjustments for future applications.

2:30-3:30 PM. Networking lunch

4:00-6:00 PM . Module 5. Web Applications Related to Agriculture 4.0

  • Benefits of web applications for agricultural management: remote access, real-time monitoring, data-driven decision-making. Study of alternatives for digitizing irrigated plots.
  • Types of web applications used in agriculture.
  • Configuring and using web applications.
  • Practical examples and simulations with the most recommended web applications.

DAY 2: AUGUST 14

8-11 hours. Module 6. Visit to a demonstration at the test fields.

  • GPS and self-guidance demonstrations.
  • Terrain mapping demonstrations.

11-11:30 am . Break

11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Module 6. Part 2.

  • ISOBUS and VRT Technology Demonstrations
  • Explanations of common troubleshooting and maintenance to be performed.
