Through our organic farming course in Lozoya (Madrid), you'll learn the key tasks of an organically grown garden in a practical way: seedbeds, raised beds, irrigation, pest control, planting, soil management, composting, vermiculture, chicken coop, and more.

This essentially practical course is aimed at those interested in creating an organic garden for self-consumption or for socio-educational purposes, both in rural and urban settings. No prior knowledge is required. This workshop is also very useful for urban gardens and container gardens.

Throughout the day we will cover the following topics:

  • What is organic production?
  • Basic notions about plants
  • Growing in containers and small spaces
  • Substrates
  • Irrigation
  • Vegetables: botanical families and plant needs
  • Crop layout and organization: How to design an organic garden
  • Maintenance work
  • The health of the garden
  • Disease prevention and control – pest control
  • Seed collection and conservation
  • The ecological chicken coop
  • Raised bed – Preparing irrigation systems
  • The moon and the plants
  • Plant compatibility and crop associations – mulching – permaculture

Groups

Groups have a maximum size of 12 participants. Each person will have their own materials and workspace. Depending on the content, there may be individual or group dynamics.

Prices and reservations

For only €70, it includes a manual in which we've compiled and written all the necessary information for managing an agroecological space. As we'll be transplanting and seeding throughout the day, you can take some with you to use in your vegetable garden, terrace, or garden. We'll also collect any available seeds and give you some we've previously collected.

Reserve your spot by paying €20 per person. The remaining course fee (€50 per person) is due on the day of the course.
