The INAP launches an online course on the evaluation of public policies in local government

- Applied training to strengthen the management, analysis and improvement capacities of local public policies
The National Institute of Public Administration (INAP) has opened the call for applications for the course “The evaluation of public policies in the field of local administration from an applied approach” , a training action aimed primarily at public employees at the local level interested in acquiring practical skills to evaluate municipal programs, plans and services .
A practical approach to local management
The course aims to provide participants with knowledge and tools to promote, conduct and manage public policy evaluations in the context of local administrations.
In addition, the use of information systems and artificial intelligence (AI) applied to the design, monitoring and analysis of public policies will be addressed, fostering a culture of organizational learning and continuous improvement in local management.
Content structured in four modules
The training, consisting of 50 teaching hours , will take place between February 2 and April 12, 2026 , in an online tutored format through the INAP virtual classroom .
Synchronous sessions will be held on February 5, 12, 19 and 26 , and March 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2026 , from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The program is organized into four thematic modules that combine theory, practice and collaborative work:
- Conceptual evaluation of public policies : foundations, functions, uses and evaluative approaches.
- Strategic dimension of the evaluation : organizational culture, processes, legal framework and resources.
- Methodological and operational aspects : design of matrices, indicators, information collection techniques and gender perspective.
- Management and success of the evaluation : phases of the commission, impact assessment, use of AI and key factors for the application of results.
Aimed at technical staff and local program managers
The course is especially geared towards those responsible for and involved in the execution or evaluation of municipal programs, projects and services , as well as those who manage internal information systems or public aid instruments .
