Field day on organic livestock farming and forage autonomy
Description
The Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (SEAE) will hold the field day “Organic Livestock. Forage autonomy for efficient production in resource management” on December 13 in Casas de Millán (Cáceres) , within the framework of the 2024 Call for Aid for the exchange of knowledge and training and information activities .
This activity is part of the training program approved in the provisional resolution of the call and is part of the actions that SEAE is developing under the new training program on adaptation strategies to climate change through organic production and agroecology .
A practical workshop to boost efficiency and sustainability
The day corresponds to Activity A8 of the SEAE training program and will last 6 hours , taking place in a field day format, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. , in the municipality of Casas de Millán (Cáceres) .
The main objective of this action is to promote organic livestock farming models based on forage autonomy , promoting more efficient resource management, reducing production costs and improving the environmental sustainability of livestock farms.
Through practical content and direct application in the field, key strategies will be addressed to strengthen the food self-sufficiency of livestock, optimize the use of natural resources and move towards more resilient production systems in the face of climate change.
