Energy transition and rural world
Description
The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is launching a new edition of its summer courses with a key proposal for the future of rural areas: the course "Energy Transition and the Rural World." This course aims to analyze how rural areas can become key players in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Over several days, the program will combine interactive sessions and roundtable discussions in which experts from academia, institutions, and businesses will address the main challenges and opportunities of this process.
Course objectives
- Explore how the energy transition can generate new employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in rural areas .
- Analyze the impacts on the primary sector and the digitalization of agricultural holdings.
- Highlighting inclusion and the gender perspective in rural transformation processes.
- Examine European legal obligations regarding climate change and its impact on rural communities.
The course seeks to provide participants with practical and strategic knowledge that will enable them to promote sustainable and equitable development, making rural areas a key player in the energy transition.
With this initiative, UCLM strengthens its role as a space for reflection and training on the major challenges facing society, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and territorial cohesion.
