										Description
Regenerative agriculture is an agricultural management approach based on ecological principles that seeks to restore, maintain, and improve soil health, biodiversity, the hydrological cycle, and the resilience of agricultural ecosystems. Unlike conventional or even organic agriculture, its goal is not only to produce food sustainably, but also to regenerate degraded natural resources through practices that increase organic matter content, sequester atmospheric carbon, and promote interactions between soil, plants, animals, and microorganisms.
GOALS:
- Understand the fundamentals of regenerative agriculture, its ecological principles, and key differences from conventional and organic farming.
- Analyze the scientific evidence on the improvements in soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience resulting from regenerative practices.
- Identify techniques applied in agriculture and livestock farming, such as holistic management, permanent plant cover, cover crops, rotational grazing, and silvopasture.
- Learn how to plan the practical implementation of regenerative strategies on farms, including success indicators and digital monitoring tools.
- To assess the economic costs and benefits, as well as the career opportunities, that regenerative agriculture offers to agricultural engineers and technical advisors.
