Animal welfare in pigs. Practice and evaluation

With this course you will learn the regulations regarding pig welfare and their handling and breeding conditions, as well as the cleaning and disinfection protocols for facilities and vehicles.

Goals:

• To know the national and European regulations related to animal welfare, how it is controlled and the possible sanctions for non-compliance.
• Learn the general conditions for breeding or handling pigs.
• Know the cleaning and disinfection protocols for facilities and vehicles.
• Studying the anatomy, physiology and ethology of pigs in order to better work on their well-being on a livestock farm.
• Familiarize yourself with the regulations applicable to the conditions of pig housing and livestock facilities.
• Address the most common risks that can occur in our work, how to prevent them with the proper handling of machinery, animals, etc.
