Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain has opened the call for the fourth edition of the Training Itinerary for Advisors in SIGCEX , a program designed for agri-food advisory professionals who seek to master the use of geospatial tools applied to sustainable agricultural management.
This itinerary is part of the digitalization strategy of the cooperative sector , which is promoted by the national entity to facilitate the integration of agricultural holdings into public systems such as SIEX and the implementation of the Cooperative Field Notebook (C3) .
A course to harness the full potential of SIGCEX
The main objective of the course is to train advisors to understand and use the SIGCEX Geographic Information System in an advanced way, promoting sustainable data-based management.
Throughout the program, participants will learn to:
- Interpret and manage the information generated by the data flows of the CUE and REA .
- Analyze SIGCEX dashboards for the efficient use of fertilizers and plant protection products.
- Develop applications and tools for monitoring and analyzing data in the field.
- Integrate geographic and meteorological information sources into agronomic decision-making.
- Monitor crops using vegetation indices with Sentinel-2 images and assess the impact of climate change on production.
Itinerary contents
The course is structured into three main sessions that combine applied theory and practical exercises:
- Environment and use of the SIGCEX Geographic Information System.
- Design of dashboards with information from the C3 Field Notebook.
- Use of advanced geographic resources and access to open data.
In addition, participants will explore practical cases on sustainable crop nutrition , responsible use of plant protection products , and procedures for customizing dashboards , strengthening the concept of “data cooperatives” as an engine of collective innovation.
