Course Objectives
The use of beneficial organisms (pollinators, predators and parasitoids) in recent years has proven useful in improving the quality of horticultural products, and in controlling pests in protected crops.
Therefore, biological control, along with preventive and cultural measures and the rational use of chemical products, is one of the fundamental components of Integrated Pest Management. Throughout this course, all the concepts related to the management of natural enemies for the control of damaging agents are presented in a clear and engaging manner. The different groups of natural enemies will be studied, as well as the mechanisms they use to control arthropod pests.
This course aims to be an essential tool for all types of people interested in Biological Pest Control, with varying levels of knowledge, including farmers who intend to practice it, as well as technicians and students.
