At UPTA, we are developing the project "Training and Social Innovation for the Promotion and Generation of Green Jobs in Areas at Risk of Depopulation," approved within the framework of the employsverde Program of the Biodiversity Foundation, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, and co-financed by the European Social Fund. The project targets: Working people with the goal of improving their employability and obtaining a qualification. During the project, the following activities will be carried out: First, a training course will be held: Social Economy and the Environment in Rural Areas. In Madrid.
Various social innovation initiatives will also be launched in different regions, as follows: Development of the social economy and self-employment in rural areas. In Castilla y León and Madrid. Workshop on street vending, job search, and the creation of a network of local markets and their significance. In Castilla y León and Madrid. Workshop on sustainable tourism and local development. Creation of offerings based on the participation of different stakeholders in tourism venues (accommodation, hospitality, nature guides, sports, etc.). In Madrid.
The project's main objective is to use training and social innovation to alleviate rural depopulation, identify needs in each region, and seek the necessary solutions to boost its economy, while respecting the rural environment and sustainable development.
