Description

This project was an important step in the internationalization of our school. Building on the experience of previous projects, we sought to significantly improve the skills and opportunities offered to participants. Our participation in the economic development of the agricultural and forestry sector is important, both for the environment in which our school is located and for the training provided.

The EFA has been a pioneer in the development of rural workers in Malvesía for over 40 years. This project has significantly improved the skills of the students and staff involved, providing them with a platform where they can fully develop their professional skills in the workplace. Thanks to the labor needs of rural areas, which are disadvantaged compared to other areas, these students have developed language and professional skills, which will allow them to be much better prepared to avoid or overcome unemployment.

Description of activities

An intensive language course (English and German) to complement the project's online course will be taught at the EFA in Malvesía. It will last several weeks and end in February 2016. Mobility for six students (three participants will travel to Belgium and three to Germany) for business internships, in addition to an internship at the host school one day a week. From April 11 to June 11 for participants who traveled to Belgium and from April 20 to June 20, 2016, for those who traveled to Germany. Mobility for two teachers to France for professional internships within the dual vocational training program in May 2016.

Contextual description

The current employment situation in Spain is particularly dire. Therefore, the project addresses the needs of young people and the country. Their involvement in their jobs in the host country will allow them to develop responsibility and commitment. Furthermore, the opportunity to complete part of their training abroad will enhance their entrepreneurial spirit in the agricultural and forestry sectors.

Objectives

The personal, human, and linguistic development that an exchange can bring to participants. Furthermore, the project is directly aimed at generating employment opportunities in rural areas.

Results

The results are in line with the goal established 45 years ago by the "La Malvesía" Family Agricultural School, dedicated to the development and training of rural residents by providing them with comprehensive education. The mobility programs have enabled significant growth in the participants' linguistic, technical, and personal skills, allowing them to acquire the maturity and independence that only a stay abroad can provide. Finally, the students have improved their employability and socio-professional integration. Finally, the school has had a global impact. The four participating schools gained experience in the vocational training system for the agricultural sector in different countries (Spain, Belgium, Germany, and France). This will further strengthen our dual school-business training system.
