Due to the environment in which our school is located, our participation in the economic development of the agricultural and forestry sector is essential. EFA La Malvesía has been a pioneer in the development of rural workers for 40 years. Through this project, students' skills have been improved, enabling them to develop their full employment potential. Rural environments present disadvantages in the workplace compared to other environments. However, these students have developed linguistic and professional skills and are now better prepared to avoid unemployment.
The employment situation in Spain is particularly dire at the moment. Therefore, the focus has been on addressing the needs of young people and the country as a whole. Furthermore, the opportunity to pursue part of their training abroad encourages students to develop their entrepreneurial spirit in the agricultural and forestry sectors.
- Language support (English and German) as a complement to the project's online course, taught at EFA La Malvesía.
- A visit to the school and the host companies was made by two participating Belgian students with a teacher. February 2018.
- Mobility of five students (two participants went to Belgium and three to Germany) to carry out their internships, with internships at the host school one day a week.
- Mobility of two teachers to France for professional internships in dual vocational training.
- Personal, human, and linguistic development thanks to the exchange. Project participants have achieved significant improvements in their personal development (in the developmental stage of the students who have participated in the mobility program and in their level of responsibility and autonomy), in their human rights (through the integration and cultural exchange offered by mobility), and in the linguistic field, improving their level of proficiency in a foreign language.
- This project is linked to the creation of job opportunities in rural areas in the field of entrepreneurship. Students who completed mobility programs in Germany and Belgium were able to learn new methodologies for organizing and managing work and production processes in the rural sector, learn how to use machinery, connect with self-employed workers, and improve their employability. They also obtained a European-level chainsaw operator license (students who completed mobility programs in Germany).
After analyzing the results obtained at the end of the project, we observed how they aligned with the objective of the EFA "La Malvesía": the development and training of the rural population, providing them with a comprehensive education. The result of the mobility was a significant improvement in the linguistic, technical, and personal skills of the participating teachers and students, who, after the stay, demonstrated a notable level of maturity and personal and professional autonomy.
From an employability perspective, it's worth noting that one of the students who completed their mobility in Germany obtained a contract in the summer of 2018, and the rest of the students have received a greater number of job offers.
Finally, at the center level, the impact has been global, resulting in an increase in students interested in doing internships abroad and at the teaching level in an increase in teachers who wish to participate in Vocational Training in the agricultural branch of the different countries involved.
