ECOMEJORA Biodiversity Foundation Project

Description

Environmental problems are a consequence of economic growth, land use and its productive impact, intensive agriculture and its effects on pollution, population concentration along the coast, depopulation of inland areas, urban growth focused on sun-and-beach tourism, and a territorial model that presents imbalances between coastal and inland areas.

These elements are addressed through the Provincial Council's public policies in general, and through this project in particular, as opportunities in the complex relationship between society, the environment, and the economy, enabling the development of new economies based on more sustainable models, where social innovation, the recovery of environmental values, and support for more ecological production models generate not only an economic benefit but also a positive balance for the territory and its people, fostering a greener economy.

Objectives

The project's objective is to improve the employability of rural workers in the province of Malaga by adapting their skills to the green economy through training and advisory activities.
