Biodiversity Foundation Project: Training and innovation activities for sustainable agriculture

Description

The Campo de Cartagena is a natural basin spread across several municipalities in the Autonomous Communities of Murcia and Valencia. Intensive agriculture has developed in this area, with a significant impact on the soil, aquifers, coastal water bodies (the Mar Menor), and more. It is necessary to "reconvert or adapt" conventional intensive farming systems to more sustainable techniques that are equally or more profitable than existing ones. This requires extensive training, demonstration, and support activities to achieve this transition that will lead to a shift toward more sustainable systems.

Objectives

Contribute knowledge for a transition toward more sustainable, low-environmental-impact agriculture.
