Biodiversity Foundation Project: Specialized employment program in the circular economy: "green job" opportunities

Description

The growth of the green economy and the demand for green jobs open up new needs for training and skills development. This project aims to promote environmental training in the circular economy (CE) and waste management for unemployed people in Galicia and Asturias, fostering their employability and improving their professional qualifications. CE has the potential to solve environmental challenges while opening up business opportunities and economic growth. Achieving these goals requires workers capable of performing new roles and assuming traditional but updated positions.

A gap has been identified in the training offered in the project's area of influence in education and training policies that can foster skills that maximize opportunities in this sector. A curriculum focused on training in environmental and waste management will generate opportunities for green job creation, helping to reduce the unemployment rate.

Objectives

The project's objective is to increase the project recipients' employability opportunities in the circular economy and waste management through training and social innovation initiatives.
