In the field of the green economy, reports such as Skills for Green Jobs (Cedefop, 2018) and others emphasize that the transition to a greener economy requires companies and workers to have the necessary knowledge and skills. This is not only a matter of technical issues related to green or environmental issues, but also of transversal or soft skills. According to a report by the European Environment Agency, innovation is one of the fundamental aspects for creating and maintaining employment. One of the best ways to foster innovation is so-called intrapreneurship, a growing phenomenon among large Spanish companies, although it has not yet reached SMEs with the same intensity. It is conceived as a set of initiatives developed by companies to improve their entrepreneurial capacity, their competitive position, and create value. Developing entrepreneurial activities within an organization is essential for the survival and development of companies, in order to innovate or reformulate the business model from an environmental perspective. A recent study by CISE and Banco Santander (2017) highlights the importance of this phenomenon, since 85% of companies agree that intrapreneurship has positive effects on the business and 77% state that this effect translates into increased sales.
Five programs will be held in two different autonomous communities: Extremadura and Andalusia, to reach a minimum of 85 people (17 participants in each program).
The percentage of women participating in the project will be 50%, while the percentage of participation of other priority groups (the sum of all other groups except women) will be 45%.
The Innovation and Intrapreneurship Program for the Transition to the Green Economy has been designed. It includes in-person and online training, social innovation initiatives, and consulting services. The project will be developed under a wide range of topics, encompassing the green and circular economies: energy efficiency, repopulation of disadvantaged areas, renewable energy, ecotourism, and more. All of this is aimed at linking innovation and intrapreneurship skills to these areas.
The development of innovation and intrapreneurship skills from an environmental perspective among employees of green companies or those seeking to develop green business lines in the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia and Extremadura.
