Description

Development of an infrastructure for collecting, storing, and processing data on-site, for the development of a system for evaluating and monitoring the impacts that may be generated in the Spanish National Park Network as a result of global change.

Development of an infrastructure for collecting, storing, and processing data "in situ" to develop a system for evaluating and monitoring the impacts that may be generated in the Spanish National Park Network as a result of global change, with the aim of creating an open database for use by the scientific community.

Objectives

The initiative's objective is to understand the impacts that a territory may experience as a result of Global Change, including the set of environmental, social, and economic changes that occur as a result of climate change.

Results

To understand these impacts, it is necessary to assess the short-, medium-, and long-term environmental effects and their consequences on the availability of resources for the population. To this end, a series of actions are being implemented, aimed at achieving the following results:

  • Creation and maintenance of a set of databases relating to the different meteorological and biological parameters that will be measured in the Multiparameter Meteorological Station Network.
  • Making available to the general public and researchers in particular, in accessible electronic format, all collected and organized information, raw or processed, obtained through the corresponding measurements and sampling, for the execution of assessments that allow us to understand the impacts derived from Global Change.
