In general, the Spanish productive sector appears to have a low awareness and adaptive capacity. Key sectors such as agriculture and tourism, which are two of the most impacted by climate change, still fail to understand that this impact will reduce their capacity to absorb a portion of current demand. At the regional level, most policy actions include concerns and recommendations, but very few measures and even fewer quantifiable objectives. The new occupations and training needs that will arise for climate change adaptation in the different regions have been identified.
There is no doubt that we are already experiencing the impacts of climate change and that these changes will increasingly affect workers. Therefore, it is crucial to work from a trade union perspective on climate change adaptation. Understanding the most vulnerable sectors, groups, and regions in our country, as well as the employment niches and opportunities related to the adaptation of productive sectors to climate change, allows for the establishment of more effective measures to promote social and territorial cohesion and climate justice. This helps ensure that the ecological transition and adaptation to climate change are socially just, reducing inequalities and improving employment and people's quality of life.
High-level analysis group on Just Transition and employment opportunities arising from climate change adaptation. Quantitative/Qualitative study on industrial employment vulnerability in the ecological transition and analysis of employment niches arising from climate change adaptation. Interactive map of Vulnerability and Opportunities. International seminar on Just Transition and employment impacts and opportunities arising from climate change adaptation. Project dissemination.

Promote a just transition in the productive sectors primarily involved in climate change adaptation, with particular emphasis on industry, avoiding the negative consequences of the ecological transition on employment and analyzing the opportunities and employment niches arising from the climate change adaptation process.
The project consisted of preparing a study on vulnerability and opportunities in industrial employment arising from adaptation to climate change and the ecological transition. The analysis was conducted using physical and socioeconomic variables in the different autonomous communities and complemented by 300 company surveys and 32 expert interviews. The most important aspects of the study were translated into a story map. A High-Level Group was created to provide input and validate the work, and it met four times.
