Objectives
The overall objective of this program, aimed at improving employment and diversifying income, is to learn how to compost urban waste, design a small plant, and offer agrocomposting services in towns and municipalities, exploring avenues for income diversification and the ecological regeneration of agricultural soils with the resulting compost. Agrocomposting also allows agricultural professionals to reduce the cost of inputs in organic farming, transition to organic soil management systems, and incorporate organic matter in line with CAP eco-schemes. To this end, a training program has been designed in different phases:
- Professional training to understand the challenges and processes of treating organic matter from municipal waste.
- Technical advice for the design of a plant at your facilities, farm, or estate, as well as guidance on strategies for offering and providing this new type of collection and/or treatment service to meet the mandatory selective collection of organic matter throughout Spain by 2023.
- Tutoring of the agrocomposting service for active agricultural professionals.
