Biodiversity Foundation CA2tuERA Project: Sustainable Employability in Castuera

Description

Agriculture, livestock, fishing, and forestry are sectors targeted by the national goal of ecological transformation. Spain is one of the European countries with the largest and most significant agricultural production, which represents a large employment niche that can be further strengthened and enhanced through the promotion of appropriate policies. Castuera is no exception to this rule, as the municipality (albeit to a lesser extent than the region in which it is located) has a significant percentage of jobs related to the agri-food sector and, furthermore, a more than respectable number of sheep livestock, which more than multiplies the resident population and accounts for a quarter of the total number of sheep registered in the region.

Therefore, given the socioeconomic characteristics of the municipality and the region, the promotion of actions in line with the Just Transition Strategy will generate significant impact by leveraging local employment opportunities and improving its competitiveness. To this end, three training courses will be offered and four consultancies will be provided.
