AGROALNEXT Project: Elimination of emerging contaminants in wastewater and agricultural soils using environmentally friendly techniques
- Type Project
- Execution -2025

Description
The project aims to eliminate emerging contaminants in wastewater and agricultural soils using advanced techniques such as photo-Fenton, photocatalysis, and biosolarization. These technologies degrade harmful compounds, preventing their accumulation in crops and their entry into the food chain.
Results
Development and optimization of methodologies combining liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry to determine residues of different ECs and their PTs in agricultural soils and wastewater (presentations at XXII Euroanalysis. Forthcoming). Photo-Fenton technology under solar radiation with NTA at neutral pH achieves efficient removal of different ECs in wastewater at different working scales (presentations at SECH 2025, EAAOP-7 and SP9. Forthcoming). Biosolarization using different plant material amendments increases pesticide removal in agricultural soils during the disinfection process.
