Description
The project develops a portable system for measuring procalcitonin in porcine saliva, enabling the detection of sepsis on farms and reducing antibiotic use. An analytically validated lateral flow immunoassay is being designed and tested against common bacterial infections in swine.
Results
LFIA prototype optimized for PCT detection. Stable and reactive antibody conjugate. Capable of preliminarily distinguishing healthy from infected animals. Solid technological basis for clinical validation.
