Description
The project models the intensive agricultural system of the Region of Murcia to evaluate farming practices that mitigate and adapt to climate change, maximizing ecosystem services. It uses mathematical programming and FPEIR and SE/CSE frameworks to design sustainable policies.
Results
Technical, economic, and environmental characterization of crops and practices according to ecosystem services (ES). Design, calibration, and validation of a PMP model for agriculture in the Campo de Cartagena region. Evaluation of different agricultural policies, especially those related to water resource management. Determination of trade-offs between ecosystem services in the modeled agricultural system.
