AGROALNEXT BIODIVERSA Project: Biodiverse and resilient agricultural systems
- Type Project
- Scope Autonómico
- Autonomous community Aragón
- Main source of financing NextGenerationEU
- Project website Web del Proyecto
The project of the Agri-food Research and Technology Centre of Aragon (CITA) aims to contribute to the strengthening of sustainable and resilient agricultural systems through the identification and evaluation of agroecological practices and the management of biodiversity
Management and planning of agroecosystem diversity | Assessment of the diversity and resilience of genetic resources of agroecological interest | Sustainable alternatives for agricultural production (integrated pest management and crop management) and tools that contribute to reducing intensification and chemical inputs | Promotion and dissemination of agroecological results
Establishment of demonstration plots to promote the use of mixed cropping systems that favor biodiversity. Demonstration of an agro-environmental tool: incorporation of crop margins into the local context. List of local lettuce varieties with high Vitamin C content. List of the agroclimatic requirements of stone fruit varieties. Classification of a reference collection of almond trees and wild species in relation to efficient water use. Phenological and quality characterization of a pistachio collection. List of local apple varieties tolerant to scab. Development of a guide for identifying adaptive scenarios in the national collection of cucurbits. Evaluation of three hydrosols with bioherbicidal potential. Conducting five demonstration workshops on the possibilities and benefits of remote sensing in crop management. Production of six educational videos on biodiversity assessment and management to promote sustainable agricultural systems.
