Start date: 25/04/2026
Ending date: 25/04/2026
Modality: In person
Autonomous community: Navarra, Comunidad Foral de
Province: Navarra
Location: Pamplona

Description

Aimed at rural professionals, this 6-hour field day focuses on strengthening livestock farmers' capacity to adopt sustainable practices in organic livestock farming , especially in extensive systems. Strategies for optimizing the use of forage resources , improving economic efficiency, and addressing the challenges of climate change will be covered. Experts and producers will share experiences on efficient water management, soil fertility, and homegrown forage production, facilitating farm resilience and positioning in high-value markets, in line with the growing demand for organic products.

The objectives of the day are:

  • To show participants how to implement grazing management and forage production practices that increase the resilience of their farms and their capacity to mitigate the effects of climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing carbon sequestration in soils.
  • To raise awareness among participants about the importance of forage autonomy as a strategy to promote biodiversity, through the implementation of techniques that promote pasture regeneration, species diversification, and generate ecosystem services such as improved soil fertility, increased local biodiversity, and the maintenance of natural habitats.
  • To provide participants with the technical and practical tools to modernize their farms, improving their efficiency in forage production in an autonomous and ecological way, reducing dependence on external inputs and facilitating the conversion of their farms towards more sustainable models.
  • To identify and solve specific technical problems related to forage production and resource management in livestock farms, disseminating the best techniques and ecological management practices adapted to local production conditions
